Large Print Materials & Magnification Tools

Large Print Books:

There are approximately 8,500 volumes in our adult large print collection. There also are large print books for youth available in Youth Services.

Large print books are well used by our patrons and also by patrons of other Illinois libraries through interlibrary loan. We also request large print materials from other Illinois libraries. The Large Print Area is located on the main level of the Library, opposite the DVD shelves.

A donation of two Topaz Desktop Video Magnifiers was made possible through the St. Charles Public Library Foundation. These full-color magnifiers offer a variety of magnification and contrast settings and are computer compatible. One of the Topaz magnifiers is in the Carnegie Business Room. The other is on top of a filing cabinet adjacent to the Reference copier.

Several magnifiers and magnifying tools are available for use in the Library.

Luxo Wave Plus lighted magnifiers are available for use in the Library through the generosity of the Geneva Lions Club. One of the Luxo lighted magnifiers is located on a table in the Carnegie Business Room. The other is in a reading carrel in the Reference Area.
