Jayne Ann Krentz

Jayne Ann Krentz is a well-known writer and an outspoken champion of the romance genre.  But keeping track of this best-selling author can be difficult: not only has she authored over 120 books, she has written under her own name and six other pseudonyms: Jayne Bentley, Jayne Castle, Amanda Glass, Stephanie James, Amanda Quick, and Jayne Taylor!  Currently, she seems to primarily use just three pen names: Krentz (her married name) for stories set in the present, Amanda Quick, for those set in the past and Jayne Castle for her futuristic and/or paranormal titles.  As a result, in her popular Arcane Society series, she switches pen names as the story moves through time.

Born in San Diego, California, Krentz obtained a B.A in History at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a Masters degree in Library Science from San Jose State University, where she met Frank Krentz, an engineer.  They later married and currently reside in Seattle, Washington.

Long-time readers of Krentz know to expect fast-paced and character-driven stories with great dialogue and humor.   Although she often emphasizes traditional values, such as trust and honor, the romances – between determined, independent heroines and strong alpha males – is often described as “steamy.”  Try Krentz the next time you’re in the mood for contemporary romantic suspense!
