In this entirely different take on the fairy tale, husband and wife couple Shannon and Dean Hale write a graphic novel (illustrated by Nathan Hale, no relation to the husband/wife authors), retelling the tale of Rapunzel with a spin. Rather than using her hair to help suitors, Rapunzel uses her long hair to escape from her tower prison, where she has been locked by the woman who claimed to be her mother, Mother Gothel. Mother Gothel rules the whole society by using her growth magic to control agriculture. She rules with cruelty, leaving much of the population in poverty. When Rapunzel finds out what Mother Gothel has done with Rapunzel's real mother, she vows to save the day. Using her braids like lassos and teaming up with Jack, who carries a mysterious goose, Rapunzel's quest takes her on the adventure of a lifetime.

This graphic novel retells the classic story of a woman judged and sentenced by her Puritan community to wear a red letter 'A' on her chest as a sign of adultery. The adaptation keeps much of Hawthorne's original language, so the reader will experience the flavor of his writing with illustrations helping to flesh out the story.

This graphic novel tells the story of Julian who is excited upon learning that he will have to start a new school because his father is getting a job transfer. Julian is excited because he is tired of being known as a nerd. So at his new school, Julian decides that he will do everything he can to fit in, even if it means pretending that he doesn't know the answers to the easy questions that his teachers ask and saying that he hates chess (despite the fact that he has a button that says I love chess!). Julian's plans to fit in don't work out so well, and he becomes discouraged until he meets Greta and Ben. Together, they form the Secret Science Alliance. Everything with the Alliance is going well until the notebook with all of their inventions goes missing. Who has taken the notebook and will they be able to get it back before it's too late?
