Long ago, in Ireland, there lived an man know as Old Pat. Old Pat was a very good harpist, he was also very kind and very generous. In the same village lived a man known as Young Tom. Tom learned to play the harp from Old Pat, but Tom was boastful and shelfish. The two traveled together to the King's Harping Contest. On the way, they come across a leprechaun in trouble. Will Old Pat's generosity get him in trouble with the little people or will it win him the leprechauns' gold?

'Lights Out' by John Himmelman is a MUST read for the novice camper. Counselor Jim is having a difficult time getting the Scouts settled in for the night. The boys can't seem to fall asleep. They keep imagining all kinds of creatures who are just waiting until the lights are turned out to eat them, suck their blood, or make them sick. But never fear, Counselor Jim puts all their fears 'to bed' and the boys turn off the lights and fall fast asleep. The young reader will love the surprise ending that just might get those lights turned right back on!
