Art and Max are lizards, living in the desert. They need to grab all the beauty and fun they can. Arthur, as he prefers to be called, is a talented artist. Max would like to paint, too, but he doesn't know what to paint. Art gets more than he bargained for when he suggests that Max should paint him and gets spattered with multiple colors. When Max tries to remove the paint, he ends up removing Art. Can Max bring Art back? Will life on the desert ever be the same? We all get into the amusement as Caldecott-winning artist Wiesner has fun with art.

Meet Ry. He is off on a train to summer camp when he reads a letter that came a few days ago. The letter says not to come to camp. When he gets off the train to call his grandfather, the train leaves him with his backpack of belongings still on the train! Ry's luck goes from bad to worse to much worse throughout this book making the situations seem (almost) comical. Ry believes that maybe his luck is getting better when he hitchhikes and a man named Del stops to pick him up. Just as fast as good luck comes upon Ry, bad luck returns when Del's car stalls. The journey that Ry makes through the course of this book is amazingly easy-as easy as falling off the face of the earth, that is.

He then discovers he has a tiny twin brother named Pablo that Granny had been raising secretly. The two become great partners. Their first mission is to set free hissing cockroaches at the girls' formal 'pre-pre-pre-pre-prom' party. Can Daniel figure out exactly what causes him to shrink and is it a sneeze that makes him grow back to normal size?

Granddad gets so disappointed with Sally when she comes in from playing outside looking like a mess. She usually has leaves in her hair, bugs on her face, and twigs behind her ears. Sally would love to please her Granddad, but how can you climb trees, fight dragons, and make forts without getting a little dirty. Granddad tells Sally that when he was her age, he never got so filthy...or did he? When Sally accidently winds Granddad's watch backwards, Granddad goes back in time to when he was a child. It is then that we discover the real truth about Grandpa. The young reader will be able to identify with this fun-loving little girl and her Granddad in, 'The Backwards Watch' by Eric Houghton.

'Whennone of her favorite foods were at hand Kitty was forced to dine on Asparagus, Beets, Cauliflower, and Dill....' It's an alphabet book. No, it's a book about cats. Wait, I mean vegetables. It's definitely about good and bad behavior. When Kitty's family runs out of cat food and decide to give her vegetables, she retaliates in ways that are less than pleasant. After they supply her with her normal meals, she becomes, once more, her very sweet, cuddly self.
