In 1993, Billings, Montana was a town whose peace was broken by hate clubs, who victimized those in the community who were not members of the majority: particularly, Native Americans, blacks, and Jews. During the 1993 holiday season, a rock was hurled through a boy's bedroom window, where a menorah was displayed. In response, the community banded together and showed their support for their Jewish neighbors by displaying menorahs in all windows. As a result, school children learned more about the Jewish faith and how the people had been persecuted in previous times. Slowly, the acts of hatred came to a stop.
