Book! Book! Book!

When the children all go back to school, the barnyard animals are bored. They venture into town, and seeing the smiling faces coming from the library building, they decide to take a look. First, the horse clip-clops in and politely asks for something to do, but the librarian doesn't understand what he says. One by one, each animal enters and tries to communicate with the librarian, but she doesn't understand until the hen comes in, saying 'Book! Book!' With a few books, the animals return to the farm and enjoy reading the books together. This lighthearted story is a fun way to introduce the idea of a library.

Boxes for Katje

Boxes continue to come across the ocean, and Katje shares them all with everyone in her village. How can Katje thank her American friend?

The beautiful illustrations convey the mood and tone of the story.
