Lucy and Edmund suddenly find themselves aboard the Dawn Treader, a ship captained by their old friend, Prince Caspian. They go on a voyage to find the seven lords of Narnia who disappeared long ago. This book has an unusual ending when they sail to the 'utter East,' the beginning of the End of the World. This is book 3 in the Chronicles of Narnia series.

Tommy Stubbins becomes Doctor Dolittle's assistant, and learns to talk to all of his animals. They set off for the floating Spidermonkey Island (South America) to find another famous naturalist, who has disappeared. On the way, they run into trouble. In Monteverde, they run out of money. Here, Doctor Dolittle bets a bullfight promoter that if he wins in the bullring, all bullfights will end. He gets into the ring with 5 bulls, whom he has already talked to, and who have agreed to cooperate, and Dr. Doolittle wins. The voyagers are able to buy supplies, and continue on their adventures, until they hit the next snag. Will they make it to Spidermonkey Island? Will they ever make it home? This book is one of many Doctor Dolittle books. It won the Newbery Medal in 1923.

The schoolchildren in the Dutch fishing village of Shora wonder why storks no longer nest there. They work together to place a wagon wheel on the school roof so the birds will have a safe place to build nests, and in the process, the whole village comes together in a new way. This gentle story is a bit slow to get started, but as it progresses, life in a small fishing village comes alive.

Beautifully written. An amazing relationship between Billy and his dogs Old Dan and Little Ann unfolds in an action packed adventure.
