Lumphy, a stuffed buffalo, Stingray, a stuffed stingray and Plastic, a something round are the best of friends. The belong to 'the girl' who loves them. When the girl is asleep or at school the toys have adventures and fun together. They also experience fear, loss and jealousy. These characters will capture your heart. This is a good read aloud for Kindergarten and up. Followed by Toy Dance Party by Emily Jenkins.

The Warrior Cat Clans are settling into their new home around the lake. Dangers lurk between the Clans and in the twilight shadows surrounding the Clans. The four Clans are suspicious of each other, friendships between clans are breaking off and they no longer work together. The medicine cats are receiving strange and ominous dreams from StarClan which seem to be warning them of impending danger. Leafpool will have to decide where her heart lies, as a medicine cat or with Crowfeather. Squirrelflight can't understand why her good friend, Brambleclaw, is behaving so strangely. Is he still trustworthy? Will the cats be able to survive the danger when it comes? Twilight is Book 5 in the Warriors; the New Prophecy series. The earlier books in the series are: Midnight, Moonrise, Dawn, Starlight, and the sixth book is Sunset.

Tommy Stubbins becomes Doctor Dolittle's assistant, and learns to talk to all of his animals. They set off for the floating Spidermonkey Island (South America) to find another famous naturalist, who has disappeared. On the way, they run into trouble. In Monteverde, they run out of money. Here, Doctor Dolittle bets a bullfight promoter that if he wins in the bullring, all bullfights will end. He gets into the ring with 5 bulls, whom he has already talked to, and who have agreed to cooperate, and Dr. Doolittle wins. The voyagers are able to buy supplies, and continue on their adventures, until they hit the next snag. Will they make it to Spidermonkey Island? Will they ever make it home? This book is one of many Doctor Dolittle books. It won the Newbery Medal in 1923.
