When they sneak out to the woods they find the dragon slayer named St. George using heavy equipment to tear down the trees. They go back to their home and confront a neighbor with the fact that they know she is magic. They hope she will help them but she tells them to use the magical objects they already have. The magical tools lead them to a tunnel where they meet hobgoblins and dryads under St. George's spell. What is St. George up to and can they keep Emmy safe? To help with family finances, Creel's aunt plans to arrange Creels' abduction by a dragon. She reasons that a prince will save Creel, and then marry her. Unfortunately for her aunt's plans, when Creel meets the dragon, she finds he is friendly, and gentle, and Creel does not want him to be killed. She bargains with the dragon to allow her to leave, and take with her a pair of slippers from the dragon's horde. Creel plans to go to the king's seat, the capital, and seek her fortune as a seamstress. She doesn't know the power the slippers have, but will find out, too late, when an enemy uses the slippers to overtake the kingdom. Will Creel be able to get the slippers back, and save her kingdom? Will she ever make it as a seamstress?
