In a small town in southern Illinois, motherless 12 year old Lily hasn't spoken a single word since the death of her older brother. She knows and grieves over a terrible secret about what happened the night he died, one she can never share with anyone, even her Dad. When another girl her age, Tinny Bridges, comes to town to live with Lily's neighbor, troublemaker Tinny makes Lily's life even more miserable. Soon, however, it becomes apparent that Tinny is guarding a secret of her own, one that could cause real danger to them both. Will Lily be able to resolve her conflict and save herself and Tinny?
