Margaret Peterson Haddix (2009), 313 pages
Audience: 6th Grade - 8th Grade
In the book, Found, which begins the time travel series, Jonah and his best friend Chip learn that, not only were they adoptees, but that they are also famous missing children from history, kidnapped from their original time period. In this next book in the series, Jonah, Chip and Katherine, Jonah's adopted sister, are sent back to Chip's original time and place: fifteenth-century England. There they learn that Chip was one of the missing York princes, and heir to the English throne, Edward V. He and his brother were presumed to have been murdered by their uncle, so that he could inherit the throne to become Richard III. Jonah and Katherine are assured that, if they can 'fix time,' they will be allowed to take Chip back home. In other words, they need to find out what happened when Chip disappeared and make sure events occur as they were supposed to have happened. While trapped in the fifteenth century, the kids become embroiled in the final battles of the War of the Roses, the dynastic wars over which side of the Plantagenet family will rule. Can Jonah and Katherine 'fix time' before Edward/Chip is killed? This is also available as a riveting audio book.
