Tam's baby sister is stolen by fairies, who leave a changeling (an ugly fairy baby) behind. The only way to get her back is for Tam to travel to fairy land with Pix, the changeling, and exchange her for his sister. Tam faces many adventures but at last finds what he is seeking. This is a charming and lighthearted journey into the land of the fairies.
