The year is 1894 and the Connor Lumber Company is systematically logging all the giant Sequoia trees in Connor's Basin. Sixteen-year-old Francie's father owns the only inn in Connorsville and he owes his livelihood to the logging industry. Still Francie is not sure that it is right to cut down a tree that was alive when Jesus Christ walked the earth. Then she finds a note from her sister Carrie, who died six years before. The note and her sister's hidden diary lead her to the oldest living tree in the world. Can Francie save it before the logging company cuts it down? Should she?
