Sensai Wu writes in his journal, 'Heroes who can find humor in even the most terrifying situations are often the ones most able to survive.' This is one of the things that make Jay so valuable to the Ninja team. He is always quick with a joke, but he can also cook and he is a talented inventor (even if his inventions don't always work). Of course, like all the ninja, he is skilled in spinjitzu. In this story, Jay and Kai leave the Ninjago camp and go into a nearby town to get supplies. Once in town, they find the store keeper in trouble and themselves the prime suspects in a murder attempt. Can Jay's sense of humor and his skill at inventing save them from the angry and suspicious townspeople? This is one of four early chapter books which each focus on a different Ninjago character.
