Ways to Live Forever
Audience: 4th Grade - 8th Grade
Sam is an eleven year old boy. He and his friend Felix meet while in the hospital being treated for leukemia. Sam is a collector of stories and fantastic facts. He shares those with the reader throughout the book. Sam lives with his mum, dad and sister, Ella. Through Sam's stories and fact lists, we learn about what is important to him. Because he is sick, he has a list of all the things he wants to do before he dies. Most of these wishes are humorous antics he and Felix undertake. This book is set in England and there is some British slang that is easy to understand through context, for example Mum for our word Mom. You will need to keep a box of tissues handy while reading this sometimes funny, sometimes informative and sometimes sad book.
