My Light

Molly Bang (2004), 40 pages
Illustrated by Molly Bang
Audience: 1st Grade - 5th Grade
Category: Nonfiction
Molly Bang tells the story of electricity from the point of view of the sun. The sun tells the many ways of creating electricity, each beginning with the energy of its own light. The sun warms water, that turns to clouds, that rains down into rivers, that power hydroelectric plants. The sun warms the air, which creates wind, which powers wind turbines. The sun even provides energy to plants through photosynthesis, which then die and become the coal that is mined, and burned, to create electricity.
