On a school field trip to a sea inlet, Kate, Laura, and Yasmin are awakened at midnight by one of their fellow schoolmates, Dean, who tells them that he must return to 'Skull Island,' a rock island in the middle of the inlet. One of the other boys, James, hid Dean's camera on the island, and he must retrieve it, or get in trouble with his parents. Kate insists on accompanying him, so Yasmin and Laura insist on going as well. Six students end up attempting to cross the causeway to the island before it is submerged in the sea. Before they know it, James has seriously injured his leg, Yasmin and Eddie are missing, and the water has covered the causeway. Will they make it back from the island?
