Max's brothers collected coins and stamps, but they wouldn't give any to Max. Max wanted a collection and decided to collect words. When his brothers rearranged their collections, they were still just collections. When Max rearranged his word collection, he had ideas, then sentences, and then stories which he shared with his brothers. Wonderful!
