Jessie lives with her family in the frontier village of Clifton, Indiana. When diptheria strikes the children, Jessie's mom sends her on a dangerous mission to bring back help. Outside Clifton, Jessie finds herself in a strange and confusing world where her own life is in jeopardy. 1996 is so very different from the 1840 world she knows so well. Will she be able to find help for the children and keep herself safe or will she run out of time?
