A warm and funny story about Mr. Putter, his pet cat Tabby, and birthdays. While reading the newpaper and eating jam, Mr. Putter discovers that it is his birthday. Although he is convinced that he is too old to celebrate his birthday, too old for scooters and model airplanes,and too old for a birthday cake, Mr. Putter decides to invite over some company. But what could be taking his neighbor Mrs. Teaberry and her pet dog Zeke so long to arrive?
