Faith's family is traveling to California by Wagon Train in 1850. Many things must be left behind because there is little room in the Wagon. However, Faith can't leave Josefina, her pet hen, behind. She has raised Josefina from a chick, but Pa says that if Josefina causes any trouble, 'Out she goes'. Follow Faith and Josefina on their journey to California as Faith chronicles their adventures on her quilt.
