Wilbur the pig, who was lovingly raised by Fern, finds himself in the barnyard with the other animals when he grows too big to be a pet. Worse still, the other animals inform him that he is destined for the farmer's dinner table. Lonely and scared, Wilbur meets Charlotte, a wise spider who promises to help him.
